Decisions

In life , decision making is a necessary skill.
I have experienced many situations in where I had to make an impromptu decision, make an important decision and etc.

Wednesday night . was no exception.
The biggest event of the year, 'Diya" was held on Wednesday night. The following day was a public holiday coincidence with Veterans Day. And on Friday, which is today, I have an Organic Chemistry test.

With friends persuading you, temptation, no one would resist going for Diya, (basically a dance party organized by the Indian Student Association of UW, which is open to everyone irrespective of their ethnicity.)

I was tempted to attend Diya, as it would be my first time, and as a freshman it'll definitely be one of those experiences to treasure. On one side, I was telling myself: ' i could just pull an all 'nighter' on Thursday, a day before my midterm.
However, I chose not to attend Diya and sacrifice!

I knew I was missing much fun!! but what can be more fun, then you knowing you had done your best for your midterm, irrelevant of what results you obtained..

I had people telling me: 'you should have gone for Diya', 'you should have been there', 'it was awesome!'..

But all I can do is to just smile . Deep inside, I know I made the right decision.

Today too, I made another big decision. Well, I feel it is a major decision, as this decision would have an affect on my grades. either a positive affect or a negative one.

I am taking  the Wildlife subject , which was nothing at all to what I expected.
Learning about foreign species, exotic habitats, characteristics of endangered animals and etc. is interesting BUT being an international student, it is TOUGH!
And, the format of the midterms are just ridiculous. Even our TA (teaching advisor) admitted that.
Well, he din't really say it was ridiculous , according to him there could have been a better approach to it.

And so I chose to alter the Grading system of that subject, and drop it to S/NS : satisfactory or non-satisfactory.
Now, no matter how I perform, it doesn't matter as the grades won't be included in my GPA.

Its such a relieve, and I've learn a lesson not to judge a book by its cover. Wildlife may sound easy, but never judge it by the exterior..
